Croft House is a recently renovated and refurbished Georgian townhouse situated in a conveniently located back street within the historical gem town of Cockermouth in the Lake District.

We hope you find our house significantly better than the average B&B. We take pride in our facilities and décor.

We have spared no expense on recent decorations and furnishings in order to give you the best we possibly can. People often feel that if they stay at B&Bs they must put up with lower standards. Our aim is to do away with this stereotype and offer something new, high quality and value for money; so that you leave us fully satisfied, hopefully relaxed and happy to recommend us to friends and family!

Croft House has been a guesthouse for many years. Now that the tourist trade is slowly moving west across Cumbria it can now serve as an excellent base for any holiday or short break in Lakeland. We are very conveniently situated in the heart of Cockermouth; yet are lucky to be on a quiet back street. Croft House is literally minutes away from all the attractions, pubs and eating-places in town. We are also very lucky to have secure off-street parking, which is a rarity in Cockermouth!

Within a few minutes drive from Cockermouth is some of the most dramatic and unspoilt Lakeland scenery. The nearest valleys are those around Crummock Water, Loweswater and Buttermere. A short hop over the passes of Winlatter, Newlands or Honister opens up further beautiful areas such as Borrowdale. A longer drive down the coast allows you to reach Ennerdale and Eskdale Valleys.
